Lament
|
Resolving never to risk another heartbreak, she laments knowing that she will anyway. That's just how she's made.
We gave this one a deep, rich texture with enough room to breathe and let shine a few soaring vocal moments and some smoking, lyrical lead guitar work by the up and coming Pete Durand.
So again I resolve
to never take a chance like this again
And if ever I should feel tempted,
please remind me
Because I'm fragile
My intuition cannot be trusted
with the risks I am taking
and what I have to lose
So I'm asking myself:
How could I be so wrong?
When God made woman,
surely he blessed her with a heart and perception
I feel defenseless:
none of the skill,
but just the hunger.
The hunger to do
what a woman needs to do.
Can you show me a man
whose passion burns bright and clear?
And if so,
let him tell me,
for then I'll be certain.
'Cause what good is the giving
when there ain't nobody there to take it...
to take it?
That's what we do
That's what we do
A woman gives
But what good is the giving
when there ain't nobody there to take it?
That's what we do
That's what we do
A woman gives
